System Spotlights

Sarasota i-Ride

Gotcha Ride launched the Sarasota i-Ride service in March 2017 and within the first six months of operation provided more than 17K rides to residents in the downtown area. The 7-vehicle system (including one ADA-compliant vehicle) operates on demand transportation during set days and hours. The City of Sarasota provided initial funding for the system and Gotcha Ride has successfully brought in advertising partners to help subsidize the operation. Gotcha Ride expects to be fully funded by advertising revenue within 2 years of operation.

Auburn University

The War Eagle Express is a 3-vehicle fleet operating a fixed-route system (each vehicle running a separate route for maximum coverage) from 6 pm – 10 pm seven days a week. Gotcha Ride uses trained students as drivers who are paid hourly and receive tips from passengers. Auburn University, also a partner of Gotcha Bike, self-funds the program as a way to ease parking and transportation challenges. The system exceeded ridership expectations, averaging about 2,500 passengers per month.
